Drenthe’s other airport

Eelde Airport (EHGG) is of course Drenthe’s primary international airport. However, with one of the longest grass runways in The Benelux  (1080m), it is Hoogeveen Airport which is ideally suited for both contemporary and classic aircraft. In Dutch, “other” (anders) also means “different” and that is what we also are, Drenthe’s different airport.

Hoogeveen is homebase to a collection of vintage aircraft, homebuilts and  several clubs and companies operating powered aircraft, glider flying and parachute jumping.
Brasserie De Spotter is our restaurant with a terrace overlooking the airfield.
