Operation Amherst
“Operation Amherst” was the Allied codename in World War 2 of a special-forces action on April 7 and 8, 1945 for the liberation of the province of Drenthe, prior to the Canadian attack on the city of Groningen.
From April 7 to 10, 2022 this operation will be commemorated. On April 7 from 14:00 till 16:00 some 200 military vehicles will be attending Hoogeveen Airport.
